Season Five Music – Isaac “Ike” Turner

Season Five Music

Isaac “Ike” Turner was born and raised in Wishek, ND by public school teachers and lovers of music, books, film, and baseball. “Not a bad place to grow up in the 1970’s and 80’s”, he says. He credits the compulsory music program at Wishek Public School, in particular Miss Mormon, “Who let me run roughshod on the drums” for fostering his interest in music.

By his second year in college at The University of North Dakota Ike was playing in multiple bands, and it hasn’t let up since.

Ike currently lives in Kalamazoo, MI with his wife (who’s also a musician) and two kiddos. His day job is an English professor at a community college.
