The House on Sweet and Seventh

Documentary Film

The House on Sweet and Seventh is an Emmy Award-winning documentary film from filmmakers James Wolner and Derek Fletcher. The film is based on Dakota Spotlight Season 3, which investigates one of North Dakota’s most shocking murder cases.

In September 1998, Barbara and Gordon Erickstad were found murdered in their Bismarck home after their 17-year-old son’s girlfriend walked into a police station with a terrifying suspicion. Through firsthand interviews, archival material, and investigative reporting, the documentary examines the events that led to the murders and the devastating consequences of loyalty, manipulation, and violence among a group of teenagers.
