The Christine Rothschild murder is one of Madison, Wisconsin’s most haunting unsolved cases. In 1968, 18-year-old Christine was found stabbed to death outside Sterling Hall on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus. More than fifty years later, her brutal killing remains officially unsolved.
In Season 10 of Dakota Spotlight, You Killed Chris: A Friend’s Fight for Justice, journalist James Wolner revisits this cold case through interviews, archival audio, and the unwavering efforts of Christine’s friend Linda, who refused to let the crime be forgotten. Set against the turbulence of the 1960s, this season uncovers troubling patterns, explores shifting societal norms, and shows how one woman’s voice continues to demand justice across generations.
